Chapter 1: A Cold Wind Blowing

Two of the badgers attack one of the dark ones attacking Amra, dealing 10 damage to it, killing it, and then the third badger attacks the other dark one attacking the moon elven priestess, dealing 2 damage to it.

As the dark one leader closes in on her, Amra attacks the remaining of her two initial assailants, hoping to fell it before the dark one leader can flank her with it.

She swings her chakram slashing it for 2 damage, which is unfortunately not enough to kill it.

Doing her best to keep from being slashed by the dark ones, Imarra steps a few (5) feet back to get at least some distance between herself and them. Then she speaks the rashemi syllables and makes the gestures for a Magic Missile spell to create two magical darts that both follow the movement of her finger and fly towards the same dark one of the two that were just next to her.

(Magic missiles rolled a sum of 8 dmg.)

The two missiles of magical energy Imarra flings at the dark one deal 8 damage to it, and the shadow cloak dissipates from the creature as it goes down with a shriek, smoke rising from where the searing bolts of arcane energy tore up its flesh.

Grimacing in pain from the wounds, but now out of the reach of their dark blades, Kardalis swings his right arm forward with a snarl--no words spoken, no spell cast--and a bolt of fire flies out of his fingertips and flashes toward the creature harrowing Imarra.

(7 fire damage)

With the other standing dark one severely injured, Avis sets her eyes on the prize: the tall one looming towards Amra. Using her free hand to gesture in a way similar to Imarra had but a few moments earlier, she casts Magic Missile. As she points to her target, two shimmering darts of arcane force appear and shoot towards the leader of the dark ones.

(Sum of 7 damage)

Guide my arm, Nerea thinks, her eyes trained on the dark one's leader. She nocks an arrow, swift as she takes aim, before holding her breath and--releasing. The creature's resounding snarl as she strikes true makes her grimace.

"Don't let them rally!" she shouts, and the badgers rise at her command.

(Longbow deals 11 points of damage; both badgers hit for a total 2 points of damage; third badger misses).

Kardalis breaths out a sigh, a mixture of both pain and relief. He tries to stand up straight, but the effort is too much and he resigns to putting his hands on his knees, holding himself up.
"Good morning?"

"Morning," Avis replies, a bit clipped. She crosses her arms. Ikkri, who had been hiding in her hood, flutters to her shoulder. "If those creatures hadn't nearly carved you to bits, I would accuse you of being an underdark traitor, half-drow." She raises an eyebrow. "Did I see you cast magic with nary an incantation? Very interesting."

"Should I thank their corpses then, or apologize for the color of my skin?" He shakes his head, clearly not a stranger to that line of thinking.
Upon hearing the question about his powers though, he allows himself a hint of a smile, "Wouldn't you like to know, god-child"

Nerea rolls her eyes at the exchange. "If you're quite done," she says, with a pointed look at Avis, "I have some healing to do." She steps between them, lifting her free hand and letting it hover over Kardalis's shoulder. "May I?"

Kardalis nods, "Please, and thank you"

Wrinkling her nose at "god-child", Avis holds up her hands. "Fine, then. Keep your secrets. But I'll be watching with interest."
She turns to the fallen bodies of the dark ones. "Couldn't hurt to search them for supplies, I suppose. Would anyone like to help?"

Ignoring Avis's question, Nerea lowers her hand, gently touching the worst of Kardalis's injuries. Murmuring a quick incantation, her palm glows faintly with divine energy as she casts Moderate Cure Wounds. Immediately, his flesh begins to knit itself back together, wide gashes closing somewhat as she surveys them. Glancing up at him with a quick, crooked little half-smile, she asks, "Is that a bit better?"

(Kardalis heals a total of 14 points).
