Nerea Maendellyn, Half-Elf Cleric

Background: Born in the city of Neverwinter to a human father and elven mother, as a child, Nerea Maendellyn had only ever dreamed of simple things: the warmth of her family, the support of a gentle husband, and a life of song to pass the time. Yet each of these things, once well within her grasp, had slipped away from her with an ease that sometimes leaves her still with pain and longing. Now, after several years spent living within the Silver Marches in the village of Reitheillaethor, she has finally left home, uncertain of the path but sure of her direction. One day, she will return to Neverwinter against her mother’s wishes—and gods pity the people who stand between herself and Galen Wakefield.

Appearance: A half-elven woman of about average height, Nerea has brown skin and hazel eyes. Her hair is a mass of dark brown curls and is most often worn loose, though she has been known to tie it back during times of stress because it “helps [her] think.” Her clothes and equipment are worn but well-kept; of particular note is her buckler, which has been etched with a beautiful, detailed depiction of a longbow.

Personality: Observant, clever, and quick to offer a smile and kind words, Nerea handles most social situations with grace, satisfying others’ curiosity with a pleasant and disarming personality. Years of experience navigating a variety of social circles has allowed her to practice an art most often mastered in noble courts: that of saying plenty without revealing very much at all. Though in some ways guarded, it is not terribly difficult to earn her trust enough to see what lies beneath: genuine warmth, doggedness, and a conviction to do the right thing irrespective of the rule of law.
